Link to Squort.com

IF YOU LIKE SQUORT.COM and want to link to it, here are several options, including plain text link code and graphics you can download.

Also, if you operate or know of a progressive or anti-Bush site that ought to be included on Squort.com's Progressive and Anti-Bush Links pages, please advise me, and we can probably arrange reciprocal links.

Note: Please do not hot link* to these graphics.

Text Link

If you want to link to Squort.com with plain text — as is in fact my preference for accessibility reasons — copy this code and paste it into your HTML.

The result will look approximately like this (although the text color will be the same as whatever default color your site uses for links):

Squort.com

You are, of course, free to modify the above HTML as desired to fit the design of your site.

Graphic Links (in three standard sizes)

To add a graphic, right-click (Windows) or Control-Click (Macintosh), then select "Copy to disk" from the contextual menu, place the image in the correct folder, rename it if needed, and save. Then copy the HTML from the field under the graphic and paste it into your webpage HTML.

The above graphics are a bit rough, and for this I apologize. The good news is that better graphics are on their way, although you will begin to see this elsewhere on the site before I get a chance to attend to this page.

Meanwhile, however, I've found that plain text links work better in any event for accessibility purposes and search engines, and load faster, so no matter how good my final graphics may or may not be, I will still prefer text.

* Hot linking is the practice of downloading graphics or code and linking them to the source site. It can cause problems, especially to sites like this one with limited bandwidth, and can also leave your site missing an element if and when the site operator moves his/her images to different folders.

For example, rather than place an image using this code: <img src="http://www.somebody-elses-site.com/images/image.gif">, which essentially means image.gif remains part of somebody-elses-site.com, use instead <img src="http://www.your-site.com/graphics/image.gif">, or, if your format doesn't involve subdomains, merely <img src="/graphics/image.gif">.
